The Horse boy, a story about unconditional love, faith, and immense courage

I remember when my son Eduardo was about 5 years old, and I was taking him to all the different therapies to help him deal with the world around him, as his senses were always in high alert due to his high functioning autism.

From behavioral modification, to sensory integration therapies, plus special diets, special education, our days were filled with work, but the goal of healing him, and making him better, always overcame exhaustion

In those days, were sincerely the future didn´t seem so bright some days, I found an amazing book, that helped me recover faith that love can conquer absolutely anything! This book was written by Rupert Isaacson, and it told his extraordinary journey to find healing for his son Rowan, diagnosed with Autism.

Rowan familyThe Horse Boy is the story of healing, found in a far far away place, in the heart of the mountains of Mongolia, and in the hands of the local shamans :)

Rowan suffered, every minute of every day, his senses where heightened, and every little thing made him scream. His parents, as all of us seeing our children suffer this way, were completely baffled as to what they were able to do to help him, until one day, that Rowan discovered the way to his healing, drawn by great energy!

He escaped his father´s arms, went under the fence of their neighbor´s farm, and directed himself towards their horse Betsy, Rupert being a horse lover himself, knew he had to remain completely calm. This was the start of Rowan´s healing journey.

After seeing the miraculous effect that Betsy had on Rowan, Rupert ran a search to find the place where he could get healing from Rowanhorses for his boy, and he found it deep in the mountains of Mongolia :)

They crossed over rivers and prairies on top of horses, sought the healing of the Mongolian shamans, and the healing energy of the horses, until one day, after a long journey, the miracle happened! Rowan began to reconnect with the world, his cries of pain turned into laughter, and the greatest gift of all, he found the way back to his parents love :)
